Great Walls for China
A new built-in china cabinet between the kitchen and dining room faces the stair foyer, and creates an inviting look.
This kitchen renovation challenged our creativity to make the most of the existing steps and angles in the available space, yet the final kitchen feels a more roomy than the 'before' kitchen did.
A cherry wood hood above the cooktop houses built-in ventilation and task lighting.
The cabinets are stained cherry built for us by Quality Custom Cabinetry topped with 'Black Galaxy' countertops that gracefully follow the steps and turns that are the hallmark of this project.
Double ovens are placed side-by-side to leave room for a microwave and attractive china storage.
The raised countertop acts as a room divider toward the family room and features a gently sweeping curved granite bar top.
Above the double ovens there is plenty of room for the microwave and a built-in plate rack that serves as another great place to display the owner's collection of china. Our own shop built the custom brackets and the dropped mug shelf to blend with the Quality Custom Cabinetry.
The brick chimney houses a highly efficient woodburning 'Russian' firebox.
Off the kitchen there is a convenient pantry/laundry room built for us by Signature Custom Cabinetry that includes a beverage center.
A hinged shelf behind the washer and dryer hides the laundry connections and also helps prevent the scourge of the lost socks. The flooring is Marmoleum tile.
