Shaker Style Kitchens
We are so fortunate in this area to have the Canterbury Shaker Village museum just a few miles away. The grace of 'elegant simplicity' in their design esthetic is truly inspirational. With its simple lines, Shaker kitchen cabinets are one of those rare 'bridge' styles that can work well in either a traditional or modern setting.
Vintage Shaker Interpretation
Although Vintage Kitchens has actually done one kitchen in a genuine Shaker house where we had to match the original woodwork detail for detail, most of our new Shaker style kitchens feature a more liberal interpretation of the style. Even though Shaker cabinet design appears simple, it actually takes extra attention to design detail to achieve the kind of restful balance and proportions that make for a truly successful end result. Yet done right, Shaker cabinetry has such a timeless presence that it will always look at home, and current.
