Governor John Lynch and his wife Dr. Susan Lynch address supporters and friends of the Bridges House at the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Styles Bridges House. Also in attendance, former governor John Sununu and governor-elect Maggie Hassan. That is wonderful bi-partisan support
The Bridges House kitchen had to be designed to serve multiple needs -- anything from just a cup of coffee and breakfast for a special guest to a caterer providing for a large event.
The island was made in our own shop using tiger maple from New Hampshire.
The Vintage Custom Cabinetry tiger maple island is topped with a Vermont Verde Antique countertop.
There are six Jeffrey Cooper carved panels in the mantel surround featuring different historical locations throughout New Hampshire.
The painted perimeter cabinets were made for the Bridges House kitchen by Signature Custom Cabinetry.
Our own shop made the custom decorative open shelves
Tiger maple island cabinets feature easy opening and soft-closing dovetailed drawer boxes.
The tiger maple island features details like these custom reeded corbels, chamfered corners and a panel molding detail that was custom matched to the original door panel molding details we found in the 1835 portion of the house.
Below the fluted columns are a pair of storage pullout cabinets that visually appear to be the column base.
The column bases pull out to reveal extra storage on both sides of the cooktop base.
Vermont Verde Antique was used for both the countertops and the traditional slab front sink. Vermont Verde has the look of green marble but its hardness is closer to granite, making for a beautiful and practical kitchen counter.
The bridge style faucet has a traditional un-laquered finish that will age fittingly to this historic house.
The island has a sweeping curved overhang which allows for seating.
The adjacent butler's pantry was also made in our own shop and features restoration glass with antique wavy texture.
We ordered the glass pre-cut to the exact sizes we needed, so when it arrived we were able to install it right into the doors without any fitting.
Dave installs the finished doors on to the butler's pantry cabinetry after the cabinets are installed.
